A Little History

After years of knitting & crocheting for family, friends and charities, I began writing easy-to-understand patterns for popular, fun-to-work, original designs. When a local yarn shop opened in town, I offered services in sample-making, pattern writing, and teaching. One lucky day, a sales rep discovered the patterns and Designs by KN became a reality!

Since then Designs by KN have appeared in national publications: Knit Simple, Knit.1, Crochet Today!, Creative Knitting, Knitscene, Classic Elite Yarns Web-letter, Universal Yarn/Debbie Macomber Blossom Street Collection, Pattern-A-Day calendars, Crochet Uncut, CGOA Chain Link! and Care Wear Volunteers newsletters.

A published article "My Life in Afghans" appears in the spring issue of Crochet Insider.

In addition, several contest entries have won: 2009 Crochet Pattern-a-Day calendar (first prize), Stitch to Win sampler afghan entry (square #3), Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing Co., Inc. design contests.  

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of Designs by KN. I am fortunate to have opportunities to share with others the joys of knitting & crocheting.
